Roles & Responsibilities

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Demi Chef de Partie to join our culinary team. In this role, you will assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes within your assigned section. Working closely with the Chef de Partie, you will ensure high standards of food quality, hygiene, and kitchen efficiency. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated chef looking to grow and take on more responsibility in a professional kitchen.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Assist the Chef de Partie in managing a specific section of the kitchen (e.g., hot kitchen, cold kitchen, pastry, grill).
  • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and standards set by the Head Chef.
  • Maintain mise-en-place for your section and ensure timely preparation for service.
  • Ensure all food is prepared and presented with consistency, quality, and attention to detail.
  • Monitor portion control and minimize food waste.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of your workstation in compliance with hygiene and safety standards (e.g., HACCP).
  • Assist in the training and supervision of Commis and kitchen trainees within your section.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and other kitchen sections to ensure smooth service.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions, food shortages, or safety hazards to the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef.
  • Participate in stock rotation and help maintain inventory for your station.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

  • Diploma or certificate in Culinary Arts from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum 1 2 years of experience in a professional kitchen, ideally in a similar role.
  • Solid knowledge of basic cooking techniques and kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and plating guidelines accurately.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
