Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  1. Prepare and cook a variety of International and Far East dishes as per standard recipes

  2. Assist in daily operations of the staff café kitchen and ensure smooth service

  3. Maintain consistency in taste, quality, and presentation of all food items

  4. Support the Chef de Partie in managing the assigned kitchen section

  5. Ensure proper food portioning and minimize wastage

  6. Follow and maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards (HACCP)

  7. Handle basic preparation such as chopping, marination, and sauce preparation

  8. Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of food items (FIFO method)

  9. Monitor stock levels and coordinate with seniors for requisitions

  10. Maintain cleanliness of work area and kitchen equipment at all times

Desired Candidate Profile

  1. Experience as a Demi Chef in a staff cafeteria, hotel, or restaurant

  2. Knowledge of International and Far East cuisine (Asian, Chinese, Thai, etc.)

  3. Basic understanding of kitchen operations and food preparation techniques

  4. Ability to work in a high-volume kitchen environment

  5. Good teamwork and communication skills

  6. Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices

  7. Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision

  8. Flexibility to work shifts and extended hours if required

  9. Culinary diploma or relevant certification preferred
