Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Assist the dentist during various procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments are prepared and readily available.
  • Maintain strict infection control protocols, including sterilization of instruments and cleaning of the treatment area to ensure patient safety.
  • Manage patient records with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring all information is up-to-date and accurate for treatment planning.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care, fostering a proactive approach to dental health.
  • Handle dental materials efficiently, from mixing to application, ensuring optimal results for restorative procedures.
  • Coordinate patient appointments and follow-ups, ensuring smooth scheduling and minimal wait times.
  • Support the administration team with billing, insurance claims, and inventory management to streamline office operations.
  • Monitor and manage patient comfort and anxiety levels, providing empathetic support during dental procedures.
  • Stay updated with the latest dental technologies and practices, actively participating in professional development opportunities.
  • Assist in the training and onboarding of new dental staff, sharing knowledge and best practices within the team.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant dental experience, preferably in a clinical environment.

  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and any additional dental certifications will be an advantage.

  • Preference for candidates with experience in a diverse practice, including pediatric and orthodontic dentistry.

  • Completion of a recognized dental nursing qualification or diploma is mandatory.

  • Fluency in English is required; knowledge of additional languages is a plus to cater to diverse patients.

  • Proficiency in dental software for managing patient records and scheduling appointments is essential.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster positive patient relationships and ease their anxieties during treatments.

  • Physical stamina is required for prolonged periods of standing and assisting during dental procedures.

  • DOH license
