Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during various procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments are prepared and readily available.
- Maintain strict infection control protocols, including sterilization of instruments and cleaning of the treatment area to ensure patient safety.
- Manage patient records with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring all information is up-to-date and accurate for treatment planning.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care, fostering a proactive approach to dental health.
- Handle dental materials efficiently, from mixing to application, ensuring optimal results for restorative procedures.
- Coordinate patient appointments and follow-ups, ensuring smooth scheduling and minimal wait times.
- Support the administration team with billing, insurance claims, and inventory management to streamline office operations.
- Monitor and manage patient comfort and anxiety levels, providing empathetic support during dental procedures.
- Stay updated with the latest dental technologies and practices, actively participating in professional development opportunities.
- Assist in the training and onboarding of new dental staff, sharing knowledge and best practices within the team.
Desired Candidate Profile
A minimum of 2 years of relevant dental experience, preferably in a clinical environment.
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and any additional dental certifications will be an advantage.
Preference for candidates with experience in a diverse practice, including pediatric and orthodontic dentistry.
Completion of a recognized dental nursing qualification or diploma is mandatory.
Fluency in English is required; knowledge of additional languages is a plus to cater to diverse patients.
Proficiency in dental software for managing patient records and scheduling appointments is essential.
Strong interpersonal skills to foster positive patient relationships and ease their anxieties during treatments.
Physical stamina is required for prolonged periods of standing and assisting during dental procedures.
