Responsibilities

Prepare the dental treatment room, ensuring it is clean, organized, and properly equipped for procedures.
Greet and prepare patients for their dental treatment, ensuring their comfort and addressing any concerns or anxieties they may have.
Prepare and sterilize dental instruments, equipment, and materials for use in procedures.
Set up and maintain dental equipment, including X-ray machines, dental chairs, and dental unit waterlines.
Take and develop dental X-rays or intraoral photographs as directed by the dentist.
Follow radiation safety protocols and maintain accurate records of X-ray exposures.
Provide oral health education and advice to patients, emphasizing the importance of oral hygiene and preventive care.
Stay updated with the latest developments in dental techniques, technology, and regulations through continuing education and professional development activities.

Qualifications

DOH/HAAD License is required.
Understanding of dental anatomy, oral health, and common dental procedures.
Proficiency in dental instrument identification, handling, and sterilization techniques.
Knowledge of infection control protocols and adherence to strict hygiene and safety standards.
Ability to assist dentists and dental hygienists during dental procedures, such as passing instruments, providing suction, and managing dental materials.
Competence in setting up and maintaining dental equipment and materials for procedures.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, addressing their concerns and providing instructions.
Empathy and the ability to create a supportive and comfortable environment for patients.
