aboutUsLogo

Abu Dhabi Department of Energy was established in accordance with Law No. 11 of 2018 to drive the emirate's energy transition with a clear focus on creating a sector that promotes economic growth, social development, and environmental sustainability. Guided by the visionary leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, the Department of Energy is responsible for the planning and direction of Abu Dhabi's energy sector in alignment with the UAE's Net Zero by 2050 Strategic Initiative and Abu Dhabi's long-term vision for a sound, secure, and sustainable economic future. Our role encompasses enacting policies and regulations and developing strategies to ensure an effective and accelerated energy transition that underpins Abu Dhabi's sustainable growth — while protecting consumers and minimizing negative environmental impact. The Department of Energy continues to lead the way in delivering a cleaner, more resilient, and more diversified energy future for Abu Dhabi and the wider UAE.
