Roles & Responsibilities

Responsibilities
The Incumbent: 1. Advises and assists the Chief, Field Education Programme in the planning, management, monitoring and evaluation of all technical matters related to the implementation of Education Programme. 2.Supervises the programmatic aspects of Education Programme in the Field Office providing technical guidance to Area Education Officers, Heads Education Development Center (as applicable) and ensuring coordination of personnel in line with UNRWA policies, rules, and regulations. 3. Supports the supervisor in monitoring and reporting of Field Education Programme activities related to technical issues. 4.Supervises and/or participates in the recruitment of technical staff and performance appraisal within the Education Programme in the Field Office and evaluates the efficiency of staff performance. 5. Supports supervisor in overseeing the implementation of Education Programme including supervision of the technical support unit, and/or Education Development Center (where applicable). 6. Contributes to the preparation of the biennium budget of the Field Education Programme. 7. Contributes in liaising with government, local authorities and UN/NGOs to ensure them cooperation s and support in the operation of the Education Programme. 8. Performs other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor

Desired Candidate Profile

-Advanced university degree (Master s or equivalent) from an accredited educational institution in education in subjects taught at UNRWA schools/VTCs, education management or teaching methodologies. -PHD degree in education leadership and management or teaching methodologies is desirable

Eight years of progressively responsible and relevant work experience in education support services function of which at least four years should have been at a senior supervisory level. education in subjects taught at UNRWA/VTCs, education management or teaching methodologies is required. -Please confirm if you live/ reside in West Bank or Jerusalem?
