Deputy Foreign Editor The National News

The ideal candidate will have strong editorial judgment, leadership skills, and deep knowledge of Middle East affairs. You will help shape the news agenda, commission and edit content, oversee coverage of major events, and ensure high editorial standards.

Requirements:

• Master s or Bachelor's degree in journalism, political science, international relations, or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of journalism experience, with at least 5 years in a senior editorial or newsroom management role.
• Proven experience managing foreign news coverage, preferably within the Middle East.
• Sharp editorial judgment with the ability to identify compelling stories and oversee complex coverage.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent writing and editing abilities with a focus on accuracy, clarity, and speed.
• Deep understanding of Middle East politics, international relations, and global affairs.
• Fluent in English; Arabic is a strong advantage.
