Roles & Responsibilities

Under the line management of the general coordinator, you will:

  • Guarantee the integration of different program sectors in order to maximise holistic programming within the framework of MdM s mandate, strategy, policies, and humanitarian principles
  • Support the general coordinator in defining and implementing the mission strategy in Yemen
  • Monitor the humanitarian, political, and security context and anticipate its impact on ongoing programs, donor strategies, and operational priorities
  • Represent MdM in programmatic discussions with authorities, clusters, partners, and donors when delegated, and supports coordination with other MdM chapters where relevant
  • Directly supervise the program technical team and promote a collaborative and accountable team environment, ensuring capacity building and professional development
  • Ensure the budget development and monitoring
  • Ensure continuity of program leadership during the absence of the general coordinator.

You will directly manage medical and MHPSS coordinators, the grants coordinator and the meal advisor. Project managers in Aden and Marib will be under your fonctional supervision. You will work closely with the support services coordinator, the grant coordinator, the MEAL advisor and the field coordinator.

Desired Candidate Profile

You are the right match if you:

  • Hold a Master s degree in International Relation or Public Health or Social Science or any other relevant field
  • Have a program coordination profile and experience in coordination of health projects
  • Have at least 8 years experience in the humanitarian/development sector
  • Have at least 4 years of experience with a similar position
  • Have an experience with an international NGO
  • Have a previous experience of project planning, budget holding, proposal and report writing
  • Are experienced in multi-sectoral or multi-grants or multi donors programming management
  • Have strong project cycle management skills
  • Are able to analyse complex contexts and adapt programming accordingly
  • Are experienced in managing budgets and monitoring expenditures
  • Have strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Speak English fluently (oral and written - min C1 level), Arabic (highly appreciated)
  • Have adaptability and resilience in volatile contexts

This role may not suit you if you:

  • Don t have experience in complex decision making and leading a multi-disciplinary, multi-national team under difficult and tense context
  • Don t have any experience in supporting medical activities
  • Are not aligned with MdM s values, especially gender equality, human rights and humanitarian principles
