Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
What You'll Be Doing:
- Key Responsibilities
- MEP System Design:Creating designs for mechanical (HVAC), electrical, and plumbing systems within buildings.
- Technical Calculations:Performing load calculations, energy efficiency analyses, and system simulations to support design decisions.
- Design Documentation:Preparing detailed design drawings, specifications, schedules, and other contract documents.
- Code Compliance:Ensuring all MEP systems comply with building codes, safety standards, and relevant regulations.
- Coordination:Collaborating with architects, project managers, civil engineers, and contractors to integrate MEP systems seamlessly into the overall building design.
- Site Oversight:Conducting site visits and inspections to oversee installation, test systems, and resolve any issues that arise.
- Material & Equipment Selection:Selecting appropriate materials, equipment, and technologies for the MEP systems.
- Energy & Sustainability:Implementing energy-efficient and sustainable solutions to minimize environmental impact and operational costs.
- Quality Control:Reviewing contractor submittals, product data, and performing quality control checks during all project phases.
Required Skills:- Technical Proficiency: Expertise in MEP software like AutoCAD and Revit .
- Problem-Solving: The ability to identify and resolve complex technical challenges.
- Project Management: Skills to manage timelines, resources, and project aspects effectively.
- Communication & Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to ensure accuracy in designs and calculations.
- Knowledge of Codes: A deep understanding of industry codes, standards, and regulations.
- EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Bachelors degree in Engineering (or related field) and typically 3+ years of related work experience. In addition, an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate may be required (or other related certifications).
