Design & Estimation Engineer

Job Description:

• Responsible for preparing technical designs, cost estimates, and techno-commercial proposals for HVAC/MEP projects across greenfield (new projects), brownfield (modifications/expansions), and aftermarket (AMC, retrofit, upgrades). Ensures accurate, competitive, and compliant bid submissions.
• Prepare HVAC/MEP system designs including load calculations, equipment selection, and system layouts
• Develop ducting, piping, and equipment layouts based on project requirements
• Review project specifications, drawings, and BOQs
• Ensure designs comply with ASHRAE, SMACNA, and local standards
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, and subcontract works
• Analyze RFQs, drawings, and specifications to identify scope
• Perform quantity take-offs (BOQ) and pricing
• Coordinate with suppliers/subcontractors for quotations
• Prepare techno-commercial proposals for:
  
  • Greenfield projects (new installations)
  • Brownfield projects (retrofit, expansion, replacement)
  • Aftermarket services (AMC, spare parts, upgrades)

• Compile tender documents, ensuring full compliance
• Identify deviations, exclusions, and risks
• Support bid clarifications and technical discussions
• Conduct site surveys for existing systems
• Propose retrofit solutions (equipment replacement, optimization, energy-saving upgrades)
• Prepare cost-effective proposals for AMC, repairs, and upgrades
• Liaise with sales, project, procurement, and service teams
• Coordinate with vendors for pricing and technical compliance
• Support project team during handover after award
• Suggest cost-saving and energy-efficient alternatives
• Optimize design for performance, cost, and constructability
• Evaluate alternative materials and system configurations
