Roles & Responsibilities
JASARA PMC is inviting Expressions of Interest (EOI) from experienced Design Managers with over 15 years of expertise in rail projects. As a Design Manager - Rail, you will be responsible for overseeing the design aspects of large-scale rail infrastructure projects, ensuring all designs meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance with industry regulations.
Your role will involve leading multidisciplinary design teams, coordinating with stakeholders, contractors, and regulatory bodies to deliver innovative and efficient design solutions that support project objectives and timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the design process for complex rail infrastructure projects from concept to completion.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure design alignment with project requirements and specifications.
- Ensure compliance with relevant rail industry standards, codes, and safety regulations.
- Oversee design quality assurance and control processes.
- Manage design risk, value engineering, and cost control activities.
- Review and approve design deliverables and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with external consultants and stakeholders to facilitate seamless project execution.
- Mentor and guide junior design team members to enhance performance and professional development.
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 15 years experience in design management within the rail industry.
- Extensive knowledge of rail infrastructure design standards and regulations.
- Proven experience managing complex rail projects including stations, tracks, signaling, and related systems.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and negotiation abilities.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit, or equivalent.
- Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2) is highly desirable.
