Roles & Responsibilities

A well-established, boutique architecture studio based in Dubai is seeking a Design Manager to play a pivotal role within its growing team. This is a senior, hands-on position sitting between the Managing Director and the wider design team, offering the opportunity to shape both project delivery and team development.

The Role

This is a true player-coach position suited to an architect who enjoys leading projects while remaining actively involved in delivery. You will take ownership of projects from concept through to completion, while mentoring and supporting a talented team of architects and designers. The role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative studio environment and is looking to step into a leadership position without losing touch with the creative and technical aspects of architecture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver architectural projects across all stages
  • Act as a key link between senior leadership and the design team
  • Mentor and develop junior team members
  • Ensure high standards of design quality and technical delivery
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and UAE authorities

Desired Candidate Profile

  • 8 10 years professional experience in architecture
  • Proven experience working in the UAE
  • Strong background in hospitality and/or F&B projects preferred
  • Demonstrated experience leading projects end-to-end
  • Confident in both design and technical delivery
  • Experience mentoring or managing junior team members
  • Ideal Profile
  • Clear evidence of project ownership on completed work
  • Strong understanding of UAE regulations and authority approvals
  • Background in boutique or mid-sized architectural practices
  • A balanced skillset across leadership, design, and delivery
