Basic Function:

Within the mission, vision and values of our client hospital, lead, manage and oversee the activities of the assigned Nursing departments by assuming a 24-hour accountability; oversee clinical nursing performance and priority setting underpinned by the development of policy, procedures and guidelines.

UNIT NAME: Ward 1- Gynaecology, Gynae Surgery

Patient Population:

• Pregnant patients with less than 22 weeks of completed gestational age
• Women with gynecological disorders

Hours of Operation:

24 hours per day / 7days per week

# of Beds: 25 Beds

PRIMARY PATIENT DIAGNOSES:

• Anemia (all gestational age and obstetrically stable)
• Diabetes (all gestational age and obstetrically stable)
• Complications in early pregnancy up to 22 weeks
• Early pregnancy up to 22 weeks with comorbidity
• Infertility and assisted conception complications
• Termination of pregnancy up to 20 weeks
• Intrauterine fetal death
• Ectopic pregnancy
• Post caesarean section
• Female reproductive system disorder inclusive of carcinomabr

NURSING PROCEDURES:

• Pre & post-operative care related to female reproductive system through abdominal approach or vaginal approach
• Care of patient post cesarean section
• Post-partum care
• Care of patient post termination of pregnancy/abortion/miscarriage
• Contraceptive counselling
• Breastfeeding advice and support
• Education on breast self-examination
