Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Lead and drive the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of OIA's governance and compliance frameworks, ensuring adherence to international standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies while fostering a culture of accountability, integrity, and excellence across OIA and its entities.
Shape and execute governance and compliance strategies aligned with the GRC directorate overall strategy and enterprise direction ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, and alignment/integration across OIA and its entities.
Lead a high-performing and proactive Governance and Compliance team.
Oversee day-to-day governance and compliance operations.
Foster collaboration and maintain high standards of operational excellence to meet established targets.
Develop, manage, and monitor Governance and Compliance related budgets.
Ensure responsible financial stewardship and adherence to approved spending limits.
Design and oversee a comprehensive annual governance and compliance programs for OIA.
Identify and assess governance and compliance risks across OIA operations.
Monitor and proactively report compliance status and breaches.
Ensure awareness and understanding of all application of laws, regulations, and government/internal policies.
Regular review and reassessment of established policies, procedures and guidelines.
Investigate and report compliance breaches and suspected fraud cases.
Set up a governance support system and provide support through the governance team to OIA entities and recommend governance exemptions to ensure related requirements can be met.
Coordinate with the OIA concerned committees about governance issues to ensure the streamlining of governance operations.
Coordinate and support the compliance team on governance related matters to ensure compliance items meet OIA s Code of Governance.
Oversee the arrangements for the Board s evaluation of OIA entities to ensure a comprehensive review is undertaken.
Support OIA entities in the implementation of governance practices and promote an adequate governance culture within OIA to ensure governance is embedded and emphasized.
Manage the conduction of awareness sessions on Governance framework to promote governance best practices.
Design and oversee a comprehensive annual compliance checklists assessment for OIA Entities.
Develop governance plans and oversee the implementation for OIA entities to ensure governance gaps are addressed.
Manage the development, communication and implementation of the Governance and Compliance department s policies and procedures to ensure that all relevant procedural and legislative requirements are clearly communicated and duly fulfilled.
Oversee the nomination, selection, and appointment process of the of OIA Entities Boards.
Oversee the centralization of governance database for OIA Entities board- Related Matters.
Manage and lead awareness campaigns related to policies and guidelines issued to OIA Entities.
Ensure periodic review and amendment of the OIA Governance framework.
Ensure all government and legal regulations are implemented and adhered to within OIA and its Entities.
Review and provide recommendation related to exemption requests received from OIA Companies to the Steering Committee. .
. Ensure departmental compliance with health, safety, and quality standards of OIA to promote a culture of safety, risk management, and quality excellence.
Manage the contribution to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account leading best practices , improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
Desired Candidate Profile
strong>Educational Qualifications /strong> /p>
- Bachelor s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Risk Management or any other relevant field
- Master s degree is a plus
strong>Professional Qualifications /strong> /p>
FRM, PRM, CA, CPA or ACCA /p>
strong>Work Experience /strong> /p>
16 to 18 years of work experience in an investment environment/p>
