Roles & Responsibilities

We are seeking a hands-on and strategic Director of Engineering to lead the technical operations of the Taghazout Bay Marriott Resort, a new resort opening in 2026 on Morocco s stunning Atlantic coast.

As part of the pre-opening team, you will be responsible for establishing and overseeing all engineering and maintenance functions, ensuring the resort opens with world-class safety, sustainability, and operational standards. You will lead the development of preventative maintenance programs, manage capital projects, and ensure compliance with local regulations and Marriott brand standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety
  • Lead capital expenditure planning and execution
  • Develop and manage engineering budgets and energy conservation strategies
  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and brand safety and regulatory standards
  • Lead emergency response planning and execution
  • Supervise construction and ensure timely completion of pre-opening projects

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications:

  • Technical training in HVAC-R, Electrical, or Plumbing
  • High school diploma with 6 years of engineering/maintenance experience, or a 2-year degree with 4 years of experience
  • Proven leadership in hotel engineering or facilities management
  • Strong understanding of Moroccan building codes and regulatory requirements
  • Fluency in English and French is required
  • Experience in hotel pre-openings or new property launches is a strong advantage
