Director of the School of Visual Arts

The University of Balamand - Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts (ALBA) is accepting applications for the position of Director of the School of Visual Arts, on its Dekwaneh Campus.

Main Responsibilities:

• Provide academic and administrative leadership for the school.
• Develop and coordinate visual arts curricula.
• Promote artistic excellence, research, and creativity among students and faculty.
• Oversee projects, exhibitions, and cultural outreach initiatives.
• Actively participate in student recruitment and orientation.
• Develop and strengthen international partnerships with arts institutions, universities, and professional networks abroad to promote student and faculty mobility and position the school within a dynamic of intercultural exchange.

Profile:

• Proven experience in higher education and academic administration.
• Expertise in the field of visual arts and curatorial practice, with an understanding of contemporary practices.
• Ability to lead a team, develop a strategic vision for the school, and attract new student talent.
• Experience in research, publications, and the coordination of artistic projects is preferred.
• International outlook: proven experience or a strong interest in cross-border collaborations, participation in international artistic networks, and the development of exchange programs (residencies, partnerships, co-productions).
• A doctoral degree is preferred.
• Fluency in French, English, and Arabic is desirable.
