Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial consultations with students who disclose disabilities such as but not limited to dyslexia, ADHD, or long-term health conditions, including mental health needs, including stress, anxiety and performance-related concerns.
  • Develop and implement Reasonable Adjustment Plans (RAPs) tailored to each student s requirements, covering exams, mobility, communication, and in-class support.
  • Liaise closely with the Student Counsellor and other internal wellbeing teams for holistic student care.
  • Maintain confidential records and ensure compliance with university policy and data protection regulations.
  • Work directly with all faculties to ensure appropriate teaching adjustments, assistive technologies, and inclusive practices are in place.
  • Coordinate with the Exams Office to implement exam accommodations such as extra time, readers, scribes, and quiet spaces.
  • Partner with Facilities and IT to ensure physical and digital accessibility is in line with the students needs.
  • Provide expert advice on cases involving medical internships, practical placements, and fieldwork requirements for students with disabilities.
  • Track case progression using the Student Record System (SRS) and Student Portal, ensuring timely updates and accessibility of support.
  • Deliver training and awareness sessions for academic and administrative staff on disability legislation, inclusive teaching, and student engagement.
  • Support the development and implementation of disability awareness campaigns and visibility strategies across campus.
  • Maintain active relationships with medical professionals, government agencies, accessibility consultants, and non-governmental organizations.
  • Maintain a data-driven, evidence-based approach to systems development and provide regular growth and development reports.
  • Signpost students to external services and resources when needed, while maintaining clear records of referrals and outcomes.
  • Propose scalable improvements to the disability support framework, identifying needs for interns, additional staff, or external service providers as appropriate.
  • Stay up to date on national and global developments in disability services in higher education.
  • Undertake any additional duties assigned by the line manager

Desired Candidate Profile

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in psychology, special education, social work, rehabilitation, or a related field.

Preferable:

  • A master s degree in disability studies, inclusive education, or related discipline.

Experience

Desired:

  • At least 2 years of experience in disability support or student welfare in an educational or clinical setting.

Technical Skills

  • In-depth understanding of Egyptian and the UK disability frameworks, rights, and support mechanisms.
  • Strong knowledge of inclusive education practices, assistive technologies, and accessibility strategies.
  • Familiarity with institutional systems like Student Records Systems and online student portals.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to advise,
