Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Main Responsibilities:

  • Report to the OCC Supervisor in executing the daily activities of the OCC, oversee the operational control of all THC flights, with safety being the primary concern, and ensure that flight operations comply with the appropriate regulatory and company Operational Specifications.
  • Authorize, regulate, and control THC flights according to civil aviation authority and company policies to expedite and ensure the safety of flight.
  • Report to his Supervisor for any unsafe conditions threaten the safety of his/her aircraft or passengers for flight delay or cancel.
  • Perform day to day flight operations for economics, passenger service and operational control.
  • Ensure the safe completion of the flights according to the type of aircraft, distance of flights, maintenance limitations (MEL), weather conditions and minimum fuel requirements prescribed in Operation Manual (OM).
  • Check aircraft readiness - serviceability, refueling status, aircraft configuration requirement and Crew duty limitations.
  • Analyze and evaluate meteorological information to determine potential hazards to the safety of flight and to select the most desirable and economic route.
  • Run/calculate flight plans containing information such as maximum allowable take-off and landing weights, weather reports, field conditions, NOTAMS and many other operational information components required for the safe completion of the flight.
  • Prepare the Flight Release Form and ensure completion and compliance with internal policy and procedures.
  • Update the pilot in command of significant changes to weather or f light plan and recommends flight plan alternates, such as changing course, altitude and, if required, enroute landings in the interest of safety and economy.

Qualifications :

  • ELPT L4
  • GACA Dispatcher license
  • GACA Medical class 3

Experience & Skills :

  • 2 years of experience as Dispatcher
  • Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment especially when flying weather is bad.
  • Decisive as flight dispatchers must make many rapid decisions concerning safety, flight regulations, and the economy of operations.
  • As day-to-day tasks rely heavily on computer software systems, calculators, weather charts, and loading reports, competence with technology is very important.
  • Good analytical skills are important to help with the interpretation of information and applying this to flight plans.
  • Work closely with other dispatchers, pilots, and air traffic controllers, so the ability to work well in a team is very important.
  • Excellent communication skills to make sure you are clearly understood.
