Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
As a Distribution Center Team Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing productivity, quality, and safety within the warehouse. You will work closely with the Supervisor to ensure all operational guidelines and safety procedures are followed and enforced. Your role includes managing shipping and receiving activities, allocating space for stock rotation, minimizing product loss, and safeguarding company assets.
Main Responsibilities include:
- Lead and supervise the warehouse team to ensure all daily operations are executed efficiently and in line with required standards (goods receipt, storage, picking, packing, rework, and dispatch).
- Evaluate daily workload and plan the required workforce accordingly.
- Allocate tasks effectively to achieve daily objectives with maximum productivity.
- Oversee the proper receiving, inspection, and timely processing of incoming materials.
- Facilitate and support stock verification activities; investigate discrepancies and resolve customer queries.
- Ensure optimal utilization of warehouse resources including storage space, manpower, and equipment.
- Provide ongoing performance feedback and coaching to team members.
- Identify training needs within the team and recommend appropriate learning initiatives.
- Conduct daily team briefings, coordinate on-the-job training, and reinforce operational expectations.
- Maintain a high-quality operational image and uphold professionalism at all times while ensuring staff adhere to uniform and grooming standards.
- Strictly follow all standard processes, procedures, and work instructions, and promote adherence among staff.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health, safety, and environmental requirements in line with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
- Take responsibility for the security of warehouse assets, equipment, building, and inventory and report any incidents, hazards, equipment damage, or safety concerns to the Supervisor, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately and promptly.
- Support, promote, and enhance the Logistics Quality Management System in accordance with ISO 9001 standards.
Desired Candidate Profile
What you ll need to succeed
- A Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, or a related field, or an equivalent qualification.
- At least two years of experience as a Team Leader in a distribution center or warehouse environment.
- Leadership capabilities with the ability to motivate, coach, and guide team members
- High attention to detail, strong operational discipline, and effective problem-solving skills.
