Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Update existing drawings based on site verifications – measurements, routing and orientation of equipment and piping components- to reflect the status at site. Prepares new drawings such as P&ID, Piping Isometric, Process Flow diagram (PFD), Piping general Arrangements (GA), etc. based on the sketches/designs provided by the senior design engineer generated from the Refinery Plant Change Request and modification projects. Reviews and verifies existing files of drawings/data and identifies items to be deleted, amends existing drawings/data as required and keeps the updated drawings/data in the files as per applicable IMS procedure.
2. Assists Sr. Design Draftsman to review the new drawings submitted by the contractors generated from the expansion/modification projects to make sure that CAD drawings conform with the applicable ESD 10 and Refinery CAD standards.
3. Decide on the arrangement and detailing of electrical, mechanical and instrument equipment and piping drawings to make sure that they are clear, readable, presentable, and as per site condition and status.
4. To operates computer aided Design (CAD) and related software’s packages to update design data and information in TDMS (Technical Documents Management’s Systems) to produce project/modification drawings and related documents and to keep “As built” up to date.
Desired Candidate Profile
1. Formal training as a draftsman with a recognized technical institute in Engineering Disciplines preferably HND or HNC.
2. The individual should possess above average communication/report writing skills and ability to work in a multi - cultural environment.
3. Advanced AutoCAD knowledge is required.
4. Knowledge of 3D Modeling software is an asset.
5. Knowledge of other discipline drawings will be an asset.
6. Advanced knowledge of scanning raster technology is an asset.
7. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products is required (emphasis on Excel and Word, Access knowledge is an asset).
8. 5 years of practical experience in a Refinery / Petrochemical Facility.
9. Familiar with piping materials, Specifications, International Codes and Standards.
