Read and interpret HVAC blueprints, shop drawings, and layout plans to determine duct dimensions and routing.

Measure, cut, bend, and shape metal sheets or pre-insulated (PI) panels into duct components like elbows, transitions, and branches.

Assemble duct sections using hand and power tools, securing them with rivets, screws, bolts, or welding techniques.

Install and secure ductwork to walls or ceilings using metal hangers, brackets, and supportive frameworks.

Seal joints and connections with silicone, flux, or tape to prevent air leaks and ensure system efficiency.

Apply internal or external insulation to ducts to maintain thermal levels and reduce noise.

Fix and align air terminals, including grilles, diffusers, louvers, and dampers (fire or volume control).

Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of duct systems using brushes, vacuums, or specialized machines.

Inspect installed systems to identify and troubleshoot issues like improper airflow or damage.

Repair or replace malfunctioning or damaged ductwork in residential, commercial, or industrial settings.

Coordinate with site engineers, foremen, and other HVAC technicians to meet project timelines.

Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and daily progress reports.
