Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Job Purpose
The incumbent will be responsible for driving data management, analytics, and digital initiatives within the Tech & Process Cell. The role focuses on building robust MIS systems, generating actionable insights, and supporting process optimization in the hot rolling mill for rebar production. The position requires strong analytical expertise combined with a sound understanding of rolling mill operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. MIS Strategy & Management
- Design and implement plant-wide MIS frameworks for production, quality, yield, and energy monitoring.
- Develop automated dashboards and reporting systems for real-time and periodic tracking.
- Ensure data accuracy, governance, and standardization across departments.
2. Advanced Analytics & Insights
- Analyze large datasets to identify trends, inefficiencies, and performance improvement opportunities.
- Develop predictive and diagnostic analytics models for process optimization.
- Provide data-backed insights to support strategic and operational decision-making.
3. Process Performance Monitoring (Rebar Rolling)
- Track KPIs such as mill utilization, yield, rolling efficiency, downtime, and rejection rates.
- Collaborate with process and operations teams to enhance productivity and quality.
- Support root cause analysis (RCA) of process deviations and equipment-related issues.
4. Digitalization & Systems Integration
- Lead digitization initiatives including real-time monitoring systems and advanced analytics tools.
- Work with ERP/MES platforms (e.g., SAP) to ensure seamless data integration.
- Coordinate with IT teams for system enhancements, automation, and data infrastructure development.
5. Cross-functional Leadership
- Liaise with production, maintenance, quality, and planning teams for data alignment and insights.
- Prepare and present analytical reports for management reviews and technical audits.
- Mentor junior engineers/analysts in MIS tools and data interpretation.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical, statistical, and problem-solving skills
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (Power Query, VBA preferred)
- Hands-on experience with Power BI / Tableau or similar BI tools
- Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred) and MES platforms
- Understanding of hot rolling mill operations and rebar production processes
- Working knowledge of SQL / database management (preferred)
- Strong presentation and stakeholder management skills
