Role Overview

The E-Commerce CRO Manager will own the backend analytics and optimization of the Shopify store. The role centers on assessing performance data, identifying revenue leaks, improving conversion rates, optimizing customer flows, and executing continuous tests to drive measurable growth. This is a hands-on, data-driven position focused strictly on the Shopify environment, providing consultative insights based on objective performance data and without creative or design responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Conversion Rate Optimization (Primary Scope)

  • Analyze site performance daily to identify friction points and growth opportunities across homepage, PDPs, cart, and checkout.

  • Improve conversion rate through structured testing, UX adjustments, and incremental optimizations.

  • Run A/B tests to validate layout improvements, flow changes, messaging hierarchy, and customer behavior hypotheses.

  • Monitor and enhance site speed, mobile responsiveness, and checkout efficiency.

  • Maintain a CRO roadmap prioritizing actions based on revenue impact and level of effort.

Shopify Optimization & Site Operations

  • Implement data-backed updates directly in Shopify while preserving creative identity.

  • Optimize product pages, merchandising logic, and collection structure to improve visibility and buying behavior.

  • Conduct SKU-level performance analysis to identify assortment gaps, underutilized opportunities, and revenue-driving focus areas.

  • Support accurate inventory visibility and optimize product positioning across the site.

New Sales Channels & Marketplace Expansion

  • Identify, evaluate, and develop new sales channels to drive incremental revenue growth.

  • Set up storefronts on TikTok Shop, Etsy, DriveThruRPG, and other platforms; manage product listings and ensure consistency with the Shopify store.

  • Analyze marketplace performance and determine high-ROI opportunities for scale.

  • Leverage Shopify apps or workflows to streamline listing management and integrations.

  • Evaluate the viability of expanding into Amazon Handmade and other niche marketplaces.

  • Support leadership by presenting data-backed insights on channel performance and revenue potential.

Data & Revenue Insights

  • Review funnel analytics, heatmaps, and performance dashboards to uncover high-impact opportunities.

  • Analyze product velocity and SKU patterns to recommend assortment and merchandising adjustments.

  • Identify cross-sell, upsell, and bundling opportunities based on customer behavior.

  • Provide consultative guidance on improving revenue efficiency without requiring creative changes.

Reporting & Collaboration

  • Deliver weekly insights outlining findings, priorities, and proposed optimizations.

  • Communicate recommendations clearly and in business-focused language for decision-makers.

  • Align with paid media or creative teams to ensure the site experience supports traffic quality.

Qualifications

Experience

  • 3+ years in eCommerce with specialization in CRO and Shopify optimization.

  • Proven ability to improve conversion rates and overall revenue efficiency.

  • Experience conducting A/B tests and working with analytics tools.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.

  • Deep understanding of Shopify, eCommerce funnels, UX, and performance metrics.
