Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of electrical and instrumentation systems, ensuring compliance with design specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations to guarantee operational integrity.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation to verify the accuracy of installations and identify potential discrepancies or errors.
- Perform pre-commissioning and commissioning checks, including loop checks, calibration, and functional testing of instruments and control systems, to ensure proper functionality.
- Witness and verify the installation of electrical and instrumentation equipment, including cables, conduits, panels, and devices, and ensure proper grounding and bonding.
Desired Candidate Profile
Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum of 15 years’ experience in Oil & Gas and Petrochemical Industries as an inspector in the construction of new and Brownfield modifications to existing 33 KV,11kV, 3.3 kV and 415 V electric power distribution systems, switchgear, control gear, distribution boards, UPS, earthing & lighting, underground cabling, cathodic protection, lighting and small power distribution systems.
Proved experience in liaising with EPC Contractors, Manufacturers and Client representatives during the FAT and SAT of electric equipment and instrumentation equipment.
Must be experienced in interpreting and applying EPC Contractor and Vendor design documentation in the construction, testing and commissioning of all instrumentation and control systems in DCS including modifications to the existing ESD, Fire and Gas systems and control room architecture and provision of new package boiler instrumentation systems.
Good knowledge of ISO and other International Standards.
Very good knowledge of spoken and written English language including writing of technical reports.
Computer literate and familiarity with codes ASME, AWS, API, DNV, ISO and BS.
