Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Execute and monitor preventive, corrective, and condition-based maintenance for all electrical and automation systems.
  • Lead the maintenance of drive systems, PLCs, SCADA, and field instrumentation specific to paper machine operations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with ABB AC/DC Drives, PLCs (especially AC800M), MCCs, and Smart MCCs.
  • Analyze and interpret electrical and control schematics for system troubleshooting and enhancements.
  • Integrate hardware and software for multi-sectional drive systems, ensuring seamless operation.
  • Supervise and support electrical installation and commissioning activities for system upgrades or new equipment.
  • Develop and implement application software using AC800M with AC/DC drives for process automation.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of maintenance tasks, equipment history, and system upgrades using SAP PM or other CMMS platforms.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and operational standards.

Desired Candidate Profile

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Automation & Instrumentation (EAI) Engineer with a strong background in paper manufacturing. The ideal candidate should be well-versed in handling automation systems, drives, instrumentation, and electrical maintenance to ensure smooth plant operations and machinery reliability.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering.
  • Minimum 6+ years of relevant experience in the paper industry, with a strong focus on automation and drive systems.
  • Hands-on expertise in ABB drive systems (ACS800/880), Siemens, and Schneider platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical switchgear, protection relays, and drive communication protocols (Profibus, Modbus, etc.).
  • Experience in the SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) module is essential.
  • Ability to lead a team of technicians and coordinate with cross-functional departments.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and analytical skills.
