Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • BIM Modeling: Develop and maintain 3D BIM models for electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarms, and other electrical components.
  • Collaboration: Work with project engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to integrate electrical systems into overall building designs.
  • Clash Detection: Use BIM tools to conduct clash detection and resolve potential issues between electrical systems and other building services.
  • Design and Drafting: Create detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and layouts based on design specifications and codes.
  • Model Coordination: Ensure coordination between electrical and other building systems (e.g., mechanical, plumbing) within the BIM environment.
  • Quality Control: Perform quality checks on models to ensure compliance with project requirements, codes, and standards.
  • Documentation: Maintain and update project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and design revisions.
  • Project Support: Assist with the preparation of project reports, schedules, and progress updates.
  • Software Proficiency: Utilize BIM software such as Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD MEP, Navisworks, or similar tools to create and manage models.
  • Standards Compliance: Adhere to company, client, and industry standards for electrical modeling and BIM processes.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Education: Degree or certification in Electrical Engineering, civil Engineering, or related field. Additional certifications in BIM and modeling software are a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in electrical design, drafting, or BIM modeling for building projects.
  • Technical Skills:Proficiency in BIM software such as Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD MEP, and Navisworks.
    Familiarity with electrical design principles, including lighting, power distribution, and fire alarm systems.
    Knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and best practices.
