ATI is looking for a full-time ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEER to join its UAE Studio.

The Role

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for developing detailed electrical designs for various building projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications, local regulations, and international standards. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver efficient, sustainable, and high-quality designs.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive the electrical design part from concept through to project completion.
• Prepare comprehensive electrical designs, including power, light, fire alarm, emergency lighting, voice evacuation, ELV, BMS, service, and related systems for building projects using Revit.
• Conduct load calculations, cable sizing, voltage drop calculations, circuit breaker sizing, and lux level calculations.
• Develop single-line diagrams, schematic drawings, and layouts using Revit & AutoCAD.
• Ensure all designs meet local authority standards and obtain necessary approvals (DEWA, SEWA, ETIHAD, Civil Defence, DU, ETISALAT).
• Coordinate design inputs with architectural, structural, mechanical, and other disciplines to ensure seamless integration.
• Review and comment on electrical shop drawings and material submittals, and ensure compliance with design intent.
• Attend technical meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors to provide design clarifications and resolve issues.
• Support project managers during various project phases and ensure timely delivery of design packages.
• Stay updated with the latest codes, standards, and authority requirements applicable in the UAE.
• Handle authority submissions, including portal submission procedures, follow-ups, technical discussions with relevant authorities, and obtaining all necessary approvals.
• Ensure the highest standards of quality and accuracy in all deliverables.
• Provide guidance and support to junior engineers and BIM/ CAD technicians.
• Participate in design reviews, value engineering, and risk assessments as required.
• Coordinate with the site team and oversee construction activities to ensure alignment with design intent and technical specifications.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's and preferably postgraduate degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 8+ years total experience as an electrical design engineer or equivalent role (min 4+ years of relevant consultancy experience in the UAE, with Sharjah authorities experience).
• Holding valid certifications/approvals from SEWA, FEWA (Etihad), and DM/DEWA is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of UAE authority regulations (DEWA, SEWA, Etihad Water & Electricity, Civil Defense, DU, ETISALAT).
• Extensive experience in designing electrical and preferably ELV systems (ICT, Security, BMS, etc.) for building projects.
• Ability to carry out load schedules, short circuit and voltage drop calculations, lighting and power layouts.
• Proficient in Revit, 3D Modeling, Clashes detection, Navis works, AutoCAD, Dialux, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Strong coordination and communication skills with multidisciplinary teams.
• Capability to manage multiple design projects and meet tight deadlines.
