Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
A. Design & Documentation
- Prepare electrical design drawings and shop drawings for construction projects.
- Develop and review BOQs related to electrical works.
- Prepare all technical details, calculations, and load schedules.
- Ensure drawings reflect approved specifications and project scope.
B. Materials & Procurement Support
- Selection of electrical materials in coordination with drawings and specifications.
- Provide materials specifications.
- Support the procurement department in the purchasing process of electrical materials.
C. Coordination
- Coordinate with architectural, structural, mechanical, and other departments.
- Participate in meetings with clients and other departments.
- Provide technical support to the execution team.
D. Compliance & Quality
- Ensure compliance with local and international electrical codes and standards.
- Apply project specifications and quality requirements.
- Support inspections, testing, and commissioning activities.
- Report non-conformities and support corrective actions.
E. Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain organized records of drawings, BOQs, and approvals.
- Escalate unresolved technical issues to the MEP Manager.
Desired Candidate Profile
Requirements:
- Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering.
3 5 years of experience in electrical design in construction or contracting environments.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, power distribution, lighting, and installation practices.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, mechanical, and structural drawings.
- Knowledge of international standards (IEC, NFPA, IEEE, etc.).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit and ETAP or similar software knowledge is an advantage.
BOQ preparation and material take-off skills.
