Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Engineering:

  • Prepare and review detailed engineering designs for EHV transmission lines and substations (400kV / 220kV / 132kV).
  • Develop primary layouts including equipment placement, busbar configurations, and switchyard arrangements.
  • Design secondary systems including protection schemes, control circuits, and SCADA integration.

Design Review:

  • Perform thorough design reviews to ensure accuracy, safety, and compliance with relevant standards (IEC, IS, IEEE).
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams for design validation and optimization.

Design Calculations:

  • Perform conductor sizing calculations based on load, thermal limits, and voltage drop.
  • Design and calculate earthing/grounding systems as per standards.
  • Conduct DSLP (Design of Shield Wire / Lightning Protection) studies.
  • Prepare and validate electrical calculations such as short-circuit analysis, insulation coordination, and load flow (if required).

Documentation:

  • Prepare engineering drawings, technical specifications, BOQs, and reports.
  • Maintain proper documentation for design revisions and approvals.

Coordination:

  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and site teams for design inputs and clarifications.
  • Support procurement and construction teams with technical expertise.
