Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
JOB PURPOSE:
The Data Center Electrical Facility Engineer will be the responsible for Data Center Engineering
Operations within a Data Center including risk management and mitigation, corrective and preventative
maintenance of critical infrastructure, vendor management and metric reporting. He is responsible for
ensuring that all Electrical, ELV, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center is operating at peak
efficiency. This involves both planned preventative maintenance of equipment, daily corrective work,
and emergency response to emergent issues. They are expected to be a singular focal point for all
Electrical related facility operations within a given data center. Data center equipment that supports
mission-critical servers must maintain better than 99.999% uptime. This equipment includes, but is not
limited to, stand-by diesel generators, switchgear, UPSs, PDUs, and building automation systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the on-site management of DC, sub-contractors and vendors, ensuring that all work
performed is in accordance with established practices, procedures & Site local legislation.
Establish performance benchmarks, conduct analyses, and prepare reports on all aspects of the
critical facility infrastructure operations and maintenance.
Generate job cards & incident management tickets for Data Center facility.
Work with DCO managers and other business leaders to coordinate projects, manage capacity, and
optimize plant safety, performance, reliability, sustainability and efficiency.
Establish documentation relevant to business & facility operations.
Manage routine maintenance and emergency services on a variety of critical systems such as:
switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, building monitoring systems,
etc.
Assist in the design, implementation, commissioning and build out of new facilities.
Drive & implement projects to increase current facility capacity, efficiency, sustainability & reliability.
Management of the DC, in the provision of infrastructure & inventory asset management.
Review DC contract compliance & ensure all SLA’s are achieved.
Business interface with DC Management for day to day operational requirements.
Assist in recruiting efforts.
Manage DC to resolve of any infrastructure Electrical engineering issues.
Delivery of exceptional customer service and satisfaction.
Maintain, operate all Electrical systems and associated equipment, electrical equipment, building
management system.
Perform facility inspections and report on condition affecting operations
Create the Job cards in CAFM App as per Site requirements and follow up the Job cards until close
by the Technician
Responding promptly and efficiently to emergencies calls.
Prepare and submit Monthly reports of conditions in buildings and recommend actions to be taken
Review and understand equipment and methods of operation, Electrical systems, ELV system,
fire/life safety, and other systems.
Comply with all safety procedures and requirements
Maintain essential stock of spare parts.
Support any afterhours building needs and activities as required
Familiarity with datacenter guidelines and standards especially Tier III design standards and
ASME/ASHRAE/NFPA.
Ability to handle rotation Shifts on Monthly basis.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Engineering Degree or Technical Degree Diploma
2-3 year Experience in Data Center Maintenance Field.
6+ year Total Experience in Electrical Operations/Maintenance
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
33KVA License is an added advantage.
Data Center Certifications will be added advantage.
Ability to prioritize in complex, fast-paced environment.
Good problem solving skills and ability to meet demanding time constraints.
Excels with ambiguous situations as a chance to show leadership
