Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Role Overview

You will manage and support high-voltage operations within the electricity department. The role involves leading field activities, ensuring safe and reliable network performance, and supporting continuous power operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain high-voltage equipment

  • Lead switching, isolation, tagging, and restoration procedures

  • Review technical drawings, schematics, and documentation

  • Inspect substations, feeders, and HV networks for abnormalities

  • Coordinate closely with control room and operations teams

  • Plan shutdowns, energization, and network reconfiguration tasks

  • Supervise contractors during field/maintenance activities

  • Ensure full compliance with safety standards and permit systems

  • Prepare reports and monitor network performance indicators

  • Support incident investigations and root-cause analysis

Required Experience

  • Minimum 15 years in high-voltage operations

  • Strong background in electricity department or utility-level work

  • Proven experience in substation operation and maintenance

  • Hands-on knowledge of protection systems, relays, and testing

  • Deep understanding of safety rules, permits, LOTO, and procedures

Qualifications

  • Bachelor s Degree in Electrical Engineering

  • Strong communication, supervision, and field leadership skills
