Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
System Design & Engineering Design electrical systems including LV distribution, lighting layouts, grounding systems, and load calculations. Prepare solar PV system designs such as wiring schematics, inverter selection, and battery-storage configurations. Integrate electrical systems with HVAC, solar, and smart-control technologies for optimized energy performance. Develop BOQs, Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), and technical documentation as per IEC, NEC, and BS standards. Coordinate with MEP, architectural, and structural teams for seamless project integration. Project Implementation & Supervision Monitor and supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems at project sites. Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and vendor documents. Conduct site inspections and verify performance of grid-tied, hybrid, and off-grid electrical systems. Provide technical support to procurement, including evaluations of switchgear, cables, inverters, and solar panels. Ensure all electrical works meet KAHRAMAA and Ashghal regulations. Renewable Energy Integration Design and assess solar inverter systems, hybrid energy setups, ESS solutions, and smart monitoring technologies. Collaborate with HVAC and mechanical teams to align electrical loads with solar production. Evaluate emerging technologies such as microgrids, EV chargers, and new energy-storage solutions. Participate in R&D initiatives to improve renewable-energy performance. Documentation & Compliance Prepare technical reports, tender documents, and as-built drawings. Ensure all designs and installations comply with KAHRAMAA, QCS, and international codes. Maintain documentation including load schedules, calculations, drawings, and approval records.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s degree is an advantage). Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical design and project execution, preferably in solar, renewable energy, or MEP-based environments. Strong expertise in solar PV systems, inverter technologies, hybrid configurations, and energy-efficient electrical designs. Proficient in AutoCAD, ETAP, Dialux, and PVsyst with the ability to produce accurate drawings, SLDs, and calculations. Good understanding of KAHRAMAA, Ashghal, QCS, and international electrical standards (IEC, NEC, BS). Experience in reviewing shop drawings, material submittals, and supervising site implementation. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Ability to coordinate with MEP, architectural, and structural teams. Knowledge of BMS, smart-home systems, and IoT-based electrical controls is an added advantage. Certifications like LEED, PMP, or renewable-energy-related credentials are preferred. Excellent communication, documentation, and teamwork skills. Candidates currently in Qatar or with GCC experience preferred.
