A leading electro mechanical company is hiring for Electrical Engineer
POSITION OBJECTIVE: To plan, design, supervise, and ensure the successful execution of Extra High Voltage (EHV) electrical systems, including substations, transmission lines, and cable installations. The role focuses on delivering high-quality, safe, and efficient electrical solutions while ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Design and review EHV electrical systems including substations, switchgear, transformers, and cable routes. Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of EHV systems (typically 132kV and above). Prepare technical specifications, single line diagrams, and cable schedules. Ensure accurate and up-to-date records of all electrical work. Ensure all electrical work compliance with project specifications, safety regulations local authority regulations and international standards. Coordinate with consultants, contractors, project managers, construction teams and utility providers for approvals and technical clarifications. Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders regarding project progress. Assist in project planning, scheduling, and progress reporting. Conduct site inspections, quality checks, and ensure adherence to safety protocols. Conduct regular safety training and briefings for the electrical team. Implement and enforce safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to EHV system performance. Implement solutions to improve efficiency and safety. Conduct root cause analysis for any electrical failures or issues. Maintain documentation and support project close-out activities. Participate in FAT, SAT, and other system performance verifications. Review and approve electrical design and drawings.
Desired Candidate Profile
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent Relevant Experience: Minimum 5–7 years of experience in Extra High Voltage (EHV) projects (132kV and above). Proven track record in design, installation, testing, and commissioning of substations and EHV cable systems. Technical Skills: Proficiency in EHV system design (substations, switchgear, transformers, cables). Strong knowledge of electrical protection schemes and relay coordination. Expertise in reading and preparing SLDs, layouts, and cable schedules. Familiarity with testing and commissioning procedures for EHV equipment. Proficient in using electrical design software. Understanding of grid codes, safety standards, and insulation coordination. Ability to prepare and interpret technical specifications and reports. Skilled in fault analysis, load flow studies, and system reliability assessments.
