Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Supervision & Review:
- Review and approve contractors shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements for electrical systems.
- Ensure electrical installations align with design specifications, project requirements, and relevant codes/standards.
- Evaluate contractor proposals regarding value engineering, alternative materials, and systems.
Site Monitoring & Quality Assurance:
- Conduct regular site inspections and technical audits to verify compliance with approved designs and contractual obligations.
- Identify and report non-conformities; issue observations and non-conformance reports (NCRs) when necessary.
- Witness electrical testing, commissioning, and system handover processes.
Coordination & Communication:
- Liaise between the client, design team, and construction contractors to resolve technical queries and site issues.
- Attend and lead project meetings related to electrical works, including progress, coordination, and technical sessions.
- Provide ongoing technical guidance and risk assessments to support successful project delivery.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Prepare progress and quality reports; maintain logs of site activities, inspections, and correspondence.
- Review and validate as-built documentation submitted by contractors.
Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE):
- Monitor site activities to ensure electrical safety regulations and best practices are observed.
- Participate in HSE audits and support a safety culture among all project stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement:
- Advise on best practices, emerging technologies, and opportunities for electrical system optimization.
- Mentor and support junior consultants and engineering team members.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering or related disciplines.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical engineering and construction management.
- Proven experience leading large-scale construction projects (infrastructure, transit, commercial, or industrial).
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction methods, and applicable codes/regulations.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
