Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Your role
- Translate engineering sketches and markups into properly documented drawings, including schematics, wiring diagrams, AC and DC single-line diagrams, arrangement drawings, structure and assembly drawings, plan and profiles, route maps, foundations, and grounding systems for substations and transmission lines.
- Assist Engineers by transforming preliminary design drawings into detailed design deliverables.
- Ensure drawings are prepared in accordance with applicable drafting codes, standards, and predefined design criteria.
- Support Engineers and project team members in the preparation and assembly of Issued for Construction (IFC) documents and drawing packages.
- Provide ongoing technical support to Engineers throughout the project to facilitate required approvals and sign-offs.
- Review and assess field construction markups to develop accurate As-Built drawing packages.
- Participate in occasional project site visits to obtain design details as required.
Desired Candidate Profile
About you
- Bachelor s degree in Engineering from a recognized institution or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 10+ years of strong experience in high-voltage transmission and distribution substation physical layout and section drawings.
- High proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of Inventor and/or Revit is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with PLS-CADD or similar transmission line design software is an asset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively within project schedules.
- General knowledge of electrical and civil design principles.
