Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Purpose of Position
- To ensure that all electrical installations, systems, and equipment comply with established local, state, and national safety codes to prevent fires, electric shocks, and hazardous conditions.
- The position performs in line with the Bureau Veritas Quality Assurance System, including the BV Code of Ethics and the BV Group policy.
Major Responsibilities
The Inspector shall inspect and monitor SEC Projects in relation to the Quality Assurance and Quality Control; escalate non-compliance and violation of scope, codes and standards; reviews Project Quality Documents and performs other tasks in relation of Projects Quality in area of his or her specialty.
Review of applicable contractual requirements (technical standards, specifications etc.)
Review of QHSE drawings / files / plans and the relevant procedures review and validation of inspection assignment documentation (technical aspects, reference documentation, schedules, drawings, milestones, reporting, logistics, coordination procedure, etc.)
Monitor equipment and instrumentation to ensure proper Installation, operation and calibration using inspection procedures, protocol and checklists.
Execution of inspection reporting including Non-Conformities (NCR’s) and other applicable deliverables, treatment and closing of Non-Conformities / corrective actions
Interpretation of results of survey or inspection
Respects security guidelines of BV and safeguards personal security in the working environment
Initiating internal Inspection reports/INCR’s to construction crew for effective implementation of project quality plan, ITP’s, Method Statements , written procedures, project specifications, Manufacturers' recommendations, Shop drawings etc.
Accurately document the results/comments of the inspections and testing.
Qualification and Experience
- Engineering Degree/ Diploma in Electrical
- 10+ years proven experience
- SEC Approval.
- Candidate Must Have at least two QM codes of the below list:
QM01 Electrical - General
QM02 Instrumentation - General
QM16 Transformers
QM17/18 Cables
QM19 Motor Control Center-MCC
QM20 Switchgear (16)
QM21 Generators and Motors
QM36 Skid Mounted Equipment - Electrical
QM46 Switchrack
QM47 Panel Board
Desired Candidate Profile
-Thorough understanding of defect assessment techniques in accordance with relevant codes/standards.
-Thorough knowledge of static equipment and pipework design and inspection codes of practice.
-Knowledge of related standards / regulatory requirements.
-Plant/vendor inspection and associated expertise.
-Communication skills. Good command of the English language.
