Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections of electrical systems to ensure compliance with local, state, and national codes.
  • Evaluate electrical installations and systems for safety hazards, ensuring they meet engineering standards.
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports that document findings, recommendations, and required corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and building officials to address electrical code violations and safety issues.
  • Stay updated on the latest electrical codes, industry practices, and safety regulations to maintain inspection accuracy.
  • Perform field tests on electrical systems and components to verify proper operation and performance.
  • Provide guidance and training to contractors and personnel on electrical safety practices and code requirements.
  • Investigate complaints or incidents related to electrical systems to ascertain compliance and safety.
  • Assist in the development of inspection guidelines and practices to improve inspection efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Engage in continuing education to enhance skills and knowledge in the electrical inspection field.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • Certification as an Electrical Inspector from a recognized authority is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical installation, maintenance, or inspection is essential.
  • Proven experience working with NEC (National Electrical Code) and local code regulations.
  • Fluency in English is required; additional languages are a plus for diverse work environments.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate complex electrical systems and identify potential issues.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and thoroughness in inspections.
  • Physical ability to perform inspections in various environments, including confined spaces and heights.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to make quick, informed decisions based on inspection findings.
