Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled maintenance, switching operations, installation, repair, replacement, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning on transformers, switches, power circuit breakers, metal-clad switchgear line-ups, manholes, cables, protective relays, metering circuits, control circuits, and other electrical equipment used in the distribution of electric power at the 33kV, 11Kv & 440v voltage levels.
  • Repairs, adjusts, and installs electrical equipment including but not limited to programmable controllers and recorders, transmitters and transducers, motor control centers, power lift trucks, building lighting, heating, AC and ventilation equipment, electrical motors, complex electronic devices, control panels, relays, conduit, and switches.
  • Operates various components on the medium and high voltage distribution electrical system including isolation switches, interrupters, capacitor banks, transformers, voltage regulators.
  • Installs, changes, connects, and repairs overhead and underground electrical distribution lines, insulators, grounding systems, fuses, poles, air switches and lighting arresters.
  • Performs various electrical trade functions such as installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment (i.e., substations, switchboards, circuit breakers, transformers, poles, and associated hardware), associated with electrical distribution system.
  • Works from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications to install new systems or equipment and diagnose and repair trouble in existing electrical systems and equipment.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering
  • Mst have worked in a similar position with a minimum of 5 years’ experience with high voltage.
  • Holding electrical certification / authorization
