Electrical Technician – Feed Mill SHARJAH AGRICULTURAL AND LIVESTOCK PRODUCTION EST (EKTIFA)

Job Purpose

The Electrical Technician is responsible for the hands-on maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of all electrical and electro-mechanical systems within the Feed Mill. This role focuses on ensuring the continuous operation of automated production lines—from raw material intake to bagging—with a heavy emphasis on PLC systems, motor controls, and equipment safety.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Execution & Troubleshooting

• Production Line Support: Perform rapid-response repairs on Hammer Mills, Mixers, Pellet Presses (Bühler, CPM, or Mecafa), and Bagging lines.

• Motor Controls: Install, configure, and troubleshoot VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives) and soft-starters for high-torque motors.

• Automation & Instrumentation: Calibrate and repair high-precision load cells, ultrasonic level sensors, and automated routing valves.

• Bulk Handling: Maintain electrical components on bucket elevators, screw conveyors, and drag conveyors, including limit switches and speed sensors.

2. Preventive Maintenance (PM)

• Execute scheduled PM tasks on electrical panels, cleaning dust from enclosures to prevent overheating.

• Perform vibration analysis on large motors and conduct thermal imaging on electrical connections.

• Inspect and maintain pneumatic actuators and solenoid valves used in dust aspiration and gate control.

3. Systems & PLC Support

• Use PLC/SCADA interfaces to diagnose faults in the batching logic and routing systems.

• Monitor bin levels and formula execution through the control system to ensure throughput efficiency.

• Maintain the electrical controls for utility systems, including air compressors and steam boiler controls used in conditioning.

4. Safety & Compliance

• ATEX Compliance: Ensure all electrical work in "dusty" zones meets explosion-prevention standards (grounding and bonding).

• LOTO: Strictly follow Lockout/Tagout procedures for all mechanical and electrical interventions.

• Hygiene: Maintain equipment to Feed Safety standards to prevent batch cross-contamination.
