Roles & Responsibilities

Electrical / Testing Engineer – Site (Motor Division) Alfanar Engineering Services Job Location: Saudi Arabia


Purpose of the Role

To provide on-site supervision, technical expertise, and hands-on execution support for electrical testing, inspection, and commissioning of AC/DC motors and generators during installation, maintenance, repair, and overhaul activities. The role ensures compliance with international standards, safety requirements, and customer expectations.


Key Accountabilities Testing & Technical Execution

  • Perform and supervise all types of electrical testing on motors and generators, including routine tests, Tan Delta, Partial Discharge (PD), DC tests, insulation resistance, and surge tests.

  • Conduct no-load and load-run test analysis and interpret performance parameters.

  • Execute testing activities in accordance with relevant international standards for rotating equipment.

  • Inspect and verify condition and performance of RTDs, BTDs, and associated motor/generator auxiliaries during testing.


Site & Commissioning Activities

  • Supervise electrical testing during installation, erection, commissioning, preventive maintenance (PM), and repair activities at site.

  • Provide technical support during site commissioning of medium and high-voltage motors and generators.

  • Attend customer sites for troubleshooting, testing services, and technical consultation.


Leadership & Coordination

  • Guide and support supervisors, foremen, and technicians during testing operations.

  • Manage testing workload based on priority, risk level, and customer requirements.

  • Coordinate with QA and production teams to finalize repair scope based on test results.


Reporting & Documentation

  • Scrutinize, validate, and approve electrical test reports with technical recommendations.

  • Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of all test activities and findings.


Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure strict adherence to ATS Occupational Health & Safety Management System, procedures, and policies.

  • Promote safe working practices and ensure proper use of PPE at all site locations.

  • Maintain compliance with all safety and environmental regulations during site operations. Customer & Business Interaction

  • Interface directly with customers during site activities and provide technical explanations of test results.

  • Support customer decision-making with clear technical guidance and recommendations. Additional Responsibilities

  • Willingness to travel frequently to project sites.

  • Experience in motor and generator overhaul/repair services will be considered a strong advantage.


  • Qualifications & Requirements Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (mandatory) Experience

  • Strong background in Testing & Commissioning of rotating equipment (motors and generators)

  • Hands-on experience in MV/HV motor and generator testing and site commissioning activities

  • Strong expertise in MV/HV motor and generator testing, including Tan Delta, Partial Discharge (PD), insulation resistance, surge, and routine electrical tests

  • Proven experience in site commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance support for motors and generators

  • Ability to analyze test results, diagnose faults, and provide clear technical recommendations

  • Hands-on field experience in installation, erection, commissioning, and repair activities

  • Experience supervising technicians and coordinating site activities effectively

  • Strong understanding of international standards and best practices for electrical testing

  • Good communication skills with the ability to interact directly with customers and explain technical findings

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage deadlines and multiple site assignments

  • High commitment to safety standards and compliance with HSE policies

  • Willingness to travel frequently to project sites across Saudi Arabia

Preferred:

  • Experience in motor and generator overhaul/repair services

  • Prior experience working in customer-facing site roles within the Middle East
