Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

This person will be responsible for designing and testing electronic circuits for lighting products, ensuring they meet all safety and performance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Design and Testing

    • Create and test LED circuit boards and electronic systems for lighting.
    • Choose the right parts, such as LED drivers and power supplies, that have all the necessary certifications (UL/ENEC/CE).
    • Add dimming and control systems (like DALI, Bluetooth, and others) to the products.
    • Test the electrical and heat performance of the LED parts and drivers.
  • Troubleshooting and Compliance

    • Find and fix any electronic problems during the design and production stages.
    • Make sure designs follow safety and quality standards (ENEC, CE, UL, etc.).
    • Prepare the technical documents needed for product approvals.
    • Do basic tests for electromagnetic interference and work with outside labs for more advanced checks.
  • Collaboration and Support

    • Work with suppliers and manufacturing partners on creating circuit boards and finding drivers.
    • Provide wiring diagrams to the production team.
    • Help with quality control to make sure products are consistent during large production runs.
    • Work closely with mechanical engineers to fit the electronics into the lighting fixtures.
    • Talk with product managers, designers, and clients to meet project requirements.
    • Offer technical help for custom projects and after sales service.

Desired Candidate Profile

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a similar field.

  • At least 2 years of proven experience in electronics design, preferably with LED lighting or power electronics.
  • Strong knowledge of LED technology, drivers, and control systems.
  • Experience using software for circuit board design (like Altium or KiCad).
  • Familiarity with safety standards (ENEC, CE, UL, etc.).
  • Experience with testing equipment (like oscilloscopes and multimeters).
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Able to work on many projects at once and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; French is a plus.
