Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES
Network & ELV Installation
- Install devices such as switches, routers, servers, access points, CCTV systems, access control system, intercoms, and IP phones, public address system, fire alarm system, building management system, audio visual system.
- Perform structured cabling (Cat6, FOC, Control cable, fiber optic splicing, termination, patching).
- Conduct cable routing, dressing, labelling, and system integration.
Field Engineering & Fabrication
- Perform steel welding, fabrication, and mounting for network equipment brackets, camera poles, racks, video wall frames and protective enclosures.
- Install conduits, trunking, cable trays, and support structures following engineering drawings.
Electrical & Electronics Work
- Carry out electrical connections for ELV equipment, grounding, power supplies, UPS installation, maintenance and low-voltage wiring.
- Troubleshoot electronic components, power issues, and equipment faults using testing tools.
Fire Alarm & Safety Systems
- Install and maintain fire alarm devices, panels, detectors, and interface modules.
- Ensure system integration with other ELV systems (CCTV, access control, BMS, etc.).
- Carry out testing and commissioning as per civil defense requirements.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance for network and ELV systems.
- Diagnose and resolve connectivity issues, cabling faults, hardware defects, and signal problems.
- Provide field reports, test results, and incident logs.
Health & Safety
- Follow HSE procedures strictly during fieldwork, especially when working at heights, welding, and handling electrical systems.
- Ensure compliance with company and industry safety standards at all times.
Documentation & Coordination
- Update site progress reports, checklists, as-built documentation, and asset tagging.
- Coordinate with project engineers, contractors, and clients during installation phases.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and adhere to inventory controls.
Desired Candidate Profile
Were seeking a qualified Technicians who has the experience with ELV, ICT and Audio-visual Solutions.
The candidate will be responsible for the cabling, termination, testing installation of devices, troubleshooting, and maintenance of on-site network, ELV and AV systems. This role involves extensive fieldwork, including mounting of equipment, cable termination, welding support structures, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. Candidates with multi-disciplinary skills in electrical, electronics, metal fabrication, fire alarms, and health & safety will be given high priority.
Required Qualifications:
- Degree/Diploma in Networking, Electrical, Electronics, Communication Engineering, or relevant field.
- Additional certifications/experience preferred:
- HSE / OSHA / NEBOSH / First Aid
- Fire Alarm / Civil Defense Certification/experience
- Fiber Optic Technician Certification /
- Basic Welding Certification/work experience
- HVAC / Airconditioning / cooling system
- UPS Maintenance Certification/ experience
- BMS Certification/ experience
- Documentation/ Document controlling
- AutoCAD designing
Required Skills & Competencies:
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of network devices, IP addressing, cabling standards, and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on skills in steel welding (MIG/TIG/ARC), metal fabrication, and mounting.
- Proficiency in electrical/low voltage systems and UPS maintenance.
- Experience with fire alarm systems, BMS installation and testing.
- Competence in fiber optic splicing, OTDR testing, and cable management.
Tools & Equipment Handling:
- Fiber splicing machines, network testers, multimeters, Fluke machine, OTDR, power tools, welding machines, grinders, and drilling machines.
Behavioral Competencies:
- Ability to work independently and as part of a field team.
- Strong communication and reporting skills.
- Attention to detailed and high-quality workmanship.
- Willingness to work outdoors, at heights, and in challenging environments.
