Job description
Department: Emergency Medical Services (EMS)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Certification Required: PHTLS or ITLS Certification

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least 1 year of field experience and a valid PHTLS or ITLS certification. The EMT will provide pre-hospital emergency care, assess patients, administer basic life support, and ensure safe transportation of patients to healthcare facilities while maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.

Key Responsibilities

Respond promptly to emergency and non-emergency medical calls.
Assess patients' conditions and determine the appropriate course of treatment.
Provide Basic Life Support (BLS) and emergency medical care according to established protocols.
Perform patient stabilization, airway management, bleeding control, splinting, and trauma care.
Apply principles of PHTLS/ITLS in the management of trauma patients.
Safely transport patients to hospitals, clinics, or healthcare facilities.
Monitor and document patient vital signs and treatment provided during transport.
Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, dispatch personnel, and other emergency responders.
Maintain ambulance readiness by inspecting, cleaning, and restocking medical supplies and equipment.
Complete patient care reports and other required documentation accurately and promptly.
Adhere to infection control, safety, and regulatory standards.
Participate in training programs, drills, and continuing education activities.
Required Qualifications

Diploma/Certification in Emergency Medical Technology (EMT).
Minimum 1 year of experience in ambulance services, emergency response, hospital emergency departments, or related settings.
Valid PHTLS or ITLS certification.
Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred).
Knowledge of emergency medical procedures, trauma management, and patient transport protocols.
Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions under pressure.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Physically fit and capable of lifting and moving patients safely.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in trauma care and critical patient transport.
ACLS certification.
Experience working with advanced life support teams.
Familiarity with electronic patient care reporting systems.
