Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Emergency Response Leadership
- Lead and command the Emergency Response Team during incidents (fire, rescue, medical, HAZMAT).
- Act as Incident Commander until relieved by higher authority.
- Ensure immediate and effective deployment of personnel and equipment.
2. Rescue Operations & Planning
- Plan and execute confined space and high-angle rescue operations.
- Ensure standby rescue coverage for high-risk activities (WAH, vessel entry, shutdown work).
- Supervise rope rescue systems, breathing apparatus, and emergency equipment.
3. Emergency Preparedness
- Develop, implement, and maintain Emergency Response Plans (ERP).
- Conduct emergency drills, mock exercises, and readiness checks.
- Ensure team competency through regular assessments and certifications.
4. Coordination & Communication
- Liaise with HSE, PTW Authority, and Operations teams for high-risk jobs.
- Coordinate with external emergency services when required.
- Maintain effective communication during emergencies and drills.
5. Training & Competency Development
- Train and mentor ERT members in firefighting, rescue techniques, and emergency procedures.
- Evaluate team performance and ensure continuous skill improvement.
- Promote strong safety awareness across the site workforce.
6. Equipment & Systems Management
- Ensure availability and operational readiness of:
- Firefighting systems
- Rescue equipment (tripods, winches, ropes)
- SCBA and gas detection systems
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks.
7. Incident Reporting & Investigation
- Lead post-incident analysis and root cause investigations.
- Prepare detailed reports and recommend corrective actions.
- Track closure of safety actions and improvements.
Desired Candidate Profile
Certification that reflects proficiency/competency to the skill requirements of Chapter 7 (NFPA 1006 & 1670) for Confined Space Rescue and documented in accordance with OSHA 1PHONE_NUMBER. Standard First Aid/CPR with AED.
- IRATA level two or three team leader (based on assessment)
- Minimum 5+ years in Oil & Gas emergency response
- Proven experience as Emergency Response Technician
- Prior experience in Turnaround (TAR) / Shutdown operations preferred
- Demonstrated leadership in emergency situations
