Founded in 2009, the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC) specializes in the deployment, operation, and ownership of nuclear power plants within the UAE to provide clean, safe, efficient and reliable nuclear energy in the region. Established by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, ENEC is a member of the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) and is regulated by the Federal Authority of Nuclear Regulation (FANR). The organization operates under the guidance and standards of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). Serving as the investment arm of the Government of Abu Dhabi, the organization makes strategic investments in the nuclear industry, both nationally and internationally. The organization follows the highest international standards and has achieved several international accreditations, including ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001, BS 25999, ISO 27001, and Gold Certification from the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply. Apart from this, ENEC has received various awards and recognitions, such as The Institute of Risk Management’s 2015 Global Risk Awards, MEPRA Awards 2014, 2013, 2012, and Abu Dhabi Awards for Excellence in Government Performance 2015.

- Building the human resource capacity for nuclear energy program in coordination with the UAE’s education sector.
