Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Job Purpose / Summary:
Develop, Review the facility s Material & Corrosion Monitoring Program and evaluate its effectiveness consistently.
Accept responsibility to make necessary risk mitigation recommendations aimed at Safe, Optimized, and Uninterrupted
Operation of the Facility Equipment, PSVs, Pressure Vessels, Tanks, and Piping.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out Inspection/NDT activities as per plant requirements.
- Lead the team of Engineers, Supervisors, and Technicians in planning and execution of Inspection activities as per plant requirements.
- Providing support to Asset Performance Management (APM) system study and implementation data review, analysis, criticality ranking, finalization of inspection tasks, and development of RBI procedures.
- Day-to-day and long-term planning and execution of inspection & integrity monitoring and corrosion control activities.
- Corrosion Management, Resolving Corrosion & Metallurgical issues. Develop procedures to mitigate and avoid corrosion.
- Provide Inspection strategy for Rubber lined, Metallic, and insulated Equipment and Piping in NAMA.
- Proactive actions for continuous improvement & plant integrity assessment reviews.
- Review of Material selection for metallurgical performance.
- Failure analysis and preparing Inspection report and recommendations.
- Development of corrosion / Erosion mitigation plan.
- Gap analysis and Development of corrosion / Erosion mitigation plan.
- Inspection procedures development and Development of corrosion / Erosion mitigation plan.
- Plant Inspection & Condition monitoring of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, furnaces, piping, Refractory, etc.
- Review & approve welding procedures and ITP and Preheat, Inter-pass and PWHT temperature monitoring, Witnessing of MPT & DPT and RT film Interpretation.
- Approval of special submittals such as WPS, PQR, refractory/coating system etc.
- Provide frontline materials, corrosion, and integrity-related Technical assurance of major projects in NAMA.
- Provide Repair Procedures and Recommendations in line with approved procedures/ International code/Standards.
- Publishes Investigation technical reports and Technical procedures and makes a presentation to the management on risk failures.
- Carry out any specific assigned tasks by the company.
- Comply with NAMA Safety regulations.
Job Qualification:
- Masters or Bachelor of Engineering in Materials/Metallurgical Engineer, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Applicable API / AWES / ASME certification for Inspection and required for job roles such as (API 570, API 510, API 653, API 580, API 571, API 936, Welding Inspection CSWIP or AWS and Painting Inspection BGAS / NACE.
Experience:
- 5 to 12 years of hands-on working experience in a running Petrochemical / Fertilizer / Chemical Plant/ Mineral and mining process plant as an Inspection Engineer and should not be project-based QA / QC related.
Job Skills / Knowledge:
- Familiar with Engineering API Codes, standards, Industrial Inspection Techniques, and Risk-Based Inspection Methodology.
- Experienced in inspection of various equipment like Columns, Tanks, Pressure Vessels, Boilers and Steam Related Systems, Piping, structures, etc.
- Experienced in reviewing drawings, Equipment Data Sheet, line lists, and specifications to decide the suitable welding consumables & welding processes.
- Experienced in corrosion monitoring, identifying defects and degradation mechanisms, and being able to provide recommendations for short/long term repairs and replacement with necessary justifications.
- Experienced in checking incoming materials as per codes and process standard specifications and dimensional checks as per approved drawings.
- Experienced in inspection of pipe fittings, flanges, etc. correlation of mill test certificate, dimensional checks, condition of materials, documenting and reporting of nonconformity (if any).
- Experienced in reading P&ID, PFD & engineering drawings for performing inspection-related activities.
- Good knowledge of materials performance used in the manufacturing industry.
- Sub-contractor and vendor interface skills.
- In-depth technical expertise to develop, manage and implement engineering analysis, activities and programs. Provide technical expertise and consultation through direct involvement to identify and resolve static equipment problems and provide recommendations for corrective action.
- Experience in technical review and selection of new static equipment and piping and suitable lining standards.
- Experience in applicable Engineering codes and standards.
