Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Design & Calculations:
    • Prepare detailed scaffolding and formwork designs in compliance with safety standards and project specifications.
    • Perform structural load calculations for all scaffolding systems.
    • Ensure stability, safety, and efficiency in all design proposals.
  • Technical Documentation:
    • Prepare and review Method Statements and Risk Assessments for scaffolding works.
    • Produce detailed shop drawings, design reports, and calculation sheets.
    • Maintain accurate logs of scaffolding materials and design revisions.
  • Project Coordination:
    • Handle multiple ongoing projects and deliver solutions within deadlines.
    • Attend coordination and progress meetings, providing technical support and design advice to site teams.
    • Collaborate with construction teams to address on-site challenges and propose safe, cost-effective solutions.
  • Value Engineering:
    • Identify opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining safety and design integrity.
    • Optimize scaffolding systems and layouts to improve efficiency and reduce material usage.
  • Systems Knowledge:
    • Demonstrate familiarity with major scaffolding and formwork systems used for columns, slabs, retaining walls, and access platforms.
    • Recommend suitable systems for specific project applications based on technical and economic considerations.
  • Administrative & Reporting Duties:
    • Prepare Bill of Quantities for scaffolding works.
    • Maintain updated material usage and allocation logs.
    • Generate regular design and progress reports for management review.
  • Software Proficiency:
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and design-related software (AutoCAD, Revit, or equivalent).
    • Ability to generate and manage design documentation efficiently.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 5–10 years of experience in scaffolding/formwork design and supervision.
  • Strong understanding of structural design principles, load calculations, and relevant international standards.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Strong analytical thinking with the ability to think outside the box and provide practical, safe, and economical solutions.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality
