Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Oversee and validate Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) procedures and techniques, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications to guarantee the integrity of construction projects.
  • Interpret NDT results, evaluate weld quality, and provide expert analysis and recommendations for repairs or further investigation, crucial for maintaining project safety and quality.
  • Develop, review, and approve NDT procedures and work instructions, tailoring them to specific project requirements and ensuring accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to NDT personnel, enhancing their skills and knowledge to maintain a high standard of testing proficiency.
  • Conduct audits and inspections of NDT activities and personnel, verifying adherence to quality control plans and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and maintain NDT equipment, ensuring proper calibration, maintenance, and functionality to produce reliable and accurate results.
  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, and clients to communicate NDT findings, discuss potential issues, and provide solutions in a clear and concise manner.
  • Investigate NDT-related failures or discrepancies, determining root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Stay current with advancements in NDT technologies and techniques, evaluating their applicability to project needs and recommending improvements.
  • Prepare comprehensive NDT reports and documentation, accurately recording results, interpretations, and recommendations for project records and future reference.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Possesses a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field; a Master's degree is a plus, showcasing a strong foundation in engineering principles.
  • Holds ASNT Level III certification in multiple NDT methods (e.g., RT, UT, MT, PT), demonstrating comprehensive expertise and qualifications.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in NDT within the oil and gas or construction industries, providing a deep understanding of relevant applications and challenges.
  • Demonstrates extensive experience in construction projects, particularly in areas like pipelines, pressure vessels, and structural components, ensuring project-specific relevance.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing NDT procedures, ensuring compliance with international standards such as ASME, API, and ISO, showcasing technical proficiency.
  • Must have strong proficiency in NDT software and equipment, showcasing technical expertise in utilizing specialized tools.
  • Exhibits strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of interpreting complex data and providing effective solutions.
  • Demonstrates excellent leadership and teamwork abilities, capable of guiding and mentoring NDT personnel and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Possesses strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in testing, analysis, and reporting, crucial for maintaining quality and safety standards.
