Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Lead and manage the execution of engineering activities across all disciplines (Process, Mechanical, Piping, Civil, Structural, Electrical, and I&C) for FEED and detailed design projects.
Ensure timely preparation and issuance of all engineering deliverables in line with project schedules, budgets, and quality requirements.
Coordinate closely with procurement and vendor teams for preparation of MRs, technical bid evaluations, and review/approval of vendor documents.
Ensure all engineering designs comply with project specifications, Basis of Design (BOD), applicable international codes and standards (API, ASME, IEC, etc.), and licensor requirements where applicable.
Lead interdisciplinary coordination and resolve interface issues through regular design reviews and model reviews to ensure consistency across all engineering outputs.
Manage engineering progress, including planning, resource allocation, manhour control, and reporting against project KPIs.
Review and approve key engineering deliverables, ensuring technical accuracy, constructability, operability, and maintainability of the design.
Support construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning phases by resolving technical queries, issuing design clarifications, and providing field engineering support.
Evaluate and manage design changes, ensuring proper implementation and assessing impacts on cost, schedule, and overall project scope.
Participate in and ensure closure of engineering-related actions from HAZOP, SIL, constructability, and other safety and risk assessment studies.
Act as the primary engineering interface with the Client, PMC, licensors, and other stakeholders, ensuring timely technical communication and issue resolution.
Lead and mentor engineering teams, ensuring effective coordination, performance management, and adherence to project objectives.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical preferred).
Minimum 15–20 years of experience in oil & gas / petrochemical projects.
Proven experience in EPC projects or FEED and detailed engineering phases.
Prior experience in an Engineering Manager or Lead Engineer role on multi-disciplinary projects.
Strong understanding of engineering deliverables, workflows, and project execution practices.
Familiarity with international standards and codes (API, ASME, ISO, IEC, NFPA, etc.).
Experience with engineering software and tools such as HYSYS, EDR/HTRI, and 3D modeling platforms (e.g., AVEVA E3D, Smart 3D, CADWorx).
Strong planning, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Refinery project experience (e.g., CDU, VDU, hydrotreating, platforming) is highly desirable.
Experience working with international EPC contractors or licensors.
Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project cost and schedule impacts.
