Roles & Responsibilities
Job Scope:
As an Engineering Team Leader, you are responsible for overseeing a team of engineers, providing technical guidance, managing projects, and ensuring the successful execution of engineering tasks. This role involves leading and motivating the team, fostering innovation, and driving the achievement of project objectives within the engineering department.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Team Leadership and Management:
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of engineers to achieve project goals, foster a culture of collaboration, and drive technical excellence.
- Provide guidance, support, and feedback to team members to enhance their skills, performance, and career development within the organization.
Project Management:
- Manage engineering projects from initiation to completion, including planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and monitoring project progress.
- Ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality standards and technical requirements.
Technical Guidance and Expertise:
- Offer technical expertise, advice, and support to team members on complex engineering problems, design challenges, and innovative solutions.
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to drive innovation and maintain technical relevance within the team.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with stakeholders, product managers, and other departments to align project requirements, communicate engineering solutions, and drive successful project outcomes.
- Foster communication, coordination, and knowledge sharing between engineering teams and other functional areas to support integrated project delivery.
Performance Evaluation and Development:
- Conduct performance evaluations, set goals, and provide coaching to team members to enhance their professional growth, skills development, and job satisfaction.
- Identify training needs, opportunities for skill enhancement, and career advancement paths for team members to support their long-term success within the organization.
Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement:
- Implement quality assurance processes, performance metrics, and best practices to ensure the delivery of high-quality engineering solutions, optimal system performance, and customer satisfaction.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, process enhancements, and innovation efforts within the team to increase efficiency, productivity, and technical excellence.
Desired Candidate Profile
Education, Qualifications and Skills:
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Additional certifications in leadership or project management are advantageous.
- Proven experience in a leadership role within an engineering team, with a track record of successfully managing projects, leading teams, and driving technical innovation.
- Strong technical background in a relevant engineering discipline, with expertise in project management, problem-solving, and decision-making.
- Excellent leadership skills, communication abilities, and a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to inspire, motivate, and develop team members, foster a culture of innovation, and achieve project objectives effectively.
